Why Volunteer?
Scouting has been part of our communities since 1907 and has continued to grow and develop from the support of our volunteers. Our volunteers not only lead but they influence, teach and have great fun. Today we offer fun, friendship and life changing adventure to nearly 450,000 young people across the UK. We make a positive difference in our local, national and international communities. We help young people learn new skills, make new friends, gain confidence and reach their full potential.
This is all made possible by over 100,000 adult volunteers. Scouts include presidents and prime ministers, explorers and entrepreneurs. They have climbed Everest, stood at the South Pole and walked on the moon. Scouts are also teachers and social workers – the people who make society work. They are all united by common values and their promise to help other people.
