Snowball Plantation is the home of York Scouting.
Snowball Plantation is set in 17 acres of mature woodland surrounded by farmland and offers a range of facilities, a fully equipped 39 bed Lodge, eight camping sites, an indoor activity building, a large multi-function field for activities, camping or events, an arena for communal activities, campfire circle and outdoor chapel. There is also a separate activity area for pre-booked activities, such as Archery & Rifle Shooting.
The Snowball Team aim to provide a safe environment in which young people can enjoy opportunities for constructive activities, recreation, nature and learning through their adventures at Snowball. The size of the site and the facilities it offers makes it suitable for a wide range of outdoor activities from full, week long camps, weekends, midweek breaks, single day or evening events. As a group, we like to make use of the Snowball facilities by taking an annual group camp to the indoor centre and regular weekend camps to the sites on offer for our Beavers and Cubs. The site is co-owned by the two York districts, York Ebor and York Minster. The site is sustained by the extremely dedicated and experienced service team. |
